What We Do

The Shawnee Band Parents Association was organized exclusively for charitable and education purposes to support the Marching Band, Color Guard, and any other band program under the supervision of the Band Director.

SBPA parents work together with the Band Director and staff to help the season run smoothly and successfully, while building their own friendships and camaraderie. SBPA supports the band in a variety of ways throughout the year, including:

  • Fundraising efforts, including the Fall and Spring Craft Fairs, Local Discount Cards, Bake Sales, and Dine & Donates.
  • Award senior scholarships through funds raised by the Scholarship Committee.
  • Provide and serve meals and snacks during Mini Camp and Band Camp.
  • Design, build, maintain, transport, and set up on-field props during home games and competitions.
  • Donate baked goods and volunteer at the Bake Sale table during home football games.
  • Order and serve pizza during pre-game practices.
  • Donate and set up post-performance snacks at weekend competitions.
  • Manage inventory of band uniforms.
  • Tow “Big Blue” to competitions.
  • Coordinate planning, setup, and hospitality when Shawnee hosts a Home Show competition.
  • Organize the end-of-season banquet.
  • Host a team-building party at the end of Mini Camp in August.
  • Plan a Senior Recognition Night to be held at halftime during a regular-season home game.
  • Provide those little extra surprises to the band throughout the season.

Meetings are held once a month. Please see the Calendar of Events page for future dates.
